F.R.O.G.S (Friends Reaching Out Giving Support) was started in 2010 by a group of community-minded individuals who wanted to help families that were having specific major medical challenges beyond their insurance coverage, difficulty finding work, or meeting their financial obligations. Justification for the assistance may vary from loss of work when construction and other industries were laying off employees. Likewise, assistance may be offered for medical procedures or equipment not normally covered by other organizations or affiliations.

The current mission of F.R.O.G.S is to generate and dispense funds by hosting fundraising events for the exclusive purpose of assisting individuals and families primarily in the Greater Houston, Texas area. Assistance for recipients is proposed by current members in good standing with the organization that have direct knowledge of the person/persons in need and the extent of their need. Commitment of the organization for fund limits granted or fundraiser event is validated by a majority of the membership vote.

In March, 2014, the organization received its’ IRS Tax Determination Letter as a 501(3) (c) charitable organization. The organization consists of an Executive Committee of Directors and other members holding positions of responsibility within the F.R.O.G.S. organization. All Directors and members of the organization are strictly on a volunteer basis; there are no paid positions. Members consist of anyone with the desire to assist in helping to achieve the mission of the F.R.O.G.S. organization.
